Decorating for the holidays

Tis the season to decorate our homes for the holidays!  The fireplace is the focal point of your room and is the perfect place to showcase your holiday decorating.  The photos below offer inspiration that will certainly get you in the spirit of this time of the year:

The mixture of textures work together to create a very elegant mantel.  Notice the birch candleholders with the moss surrounding the evergreen branch.  The vanilla and citrine colors are very soothing.

A modern take that is so fresh.

The mix of evergreen boughs, pinecones, berries and pheasant feathers soften the limestone fireplace and work perfectly in your  paneled study or den.
Designer Charlotte Moss' mantel is decorated for the holidays, note the two sizes of the pinecones and the intermingling of the ribbon throughout the greens and ornaments.

Beautiful simplicity

Your bookcases offer a perfect place to tuck boxwood wreaths and an ornament or two.

Your windows offer another back drop to bring sparkle during the holidays.

Isn't it interesting how they chose to bring the greens over the mirror rather than placing them directly on the mantel.  Would this be something that you could do?

Both photos above were included in Cote De Texas' blog - showing table decor that designer Dana Wolter has used in her own home.  Beautiful!

Have a wonderful holiday season!
